Reed Whittemore (New Haven, Connecticut, 1919— Kensington, Maryland, 2012) fue un poeta, editor y educador estadounidense que creció en Nueva Inglaterra. Aunque la fortuna de su familia desapareció durante la Gran Depresión, asistió a una escuela preparatoria y a la Universidad de Yale.
Entre sus numerosos poemarios se incluyen The Past, the Future, the Present: Poems Selected and New (1990), The Feel of Rock: Poems of Three Decades (1982), The Mother’s Breast and the Father’s House (1974), y Fifty Poems Fifty (1970).
